itSMF Singapore Council
This members event will focus on some of the non-technical aspects of having a successful IT Service Management program. The evening will consist of two topics:
Results of the itSMF 2010 Global Survey
The itSMF 2010 Global Survey examines the progress of organizations implementing IT Service Management programs, and some of the common success factors in implementations. The results provide insights into how to make your Service Management program a success.
The ABC of IT
ABC stands for the "Attitude, Behaviour and Culture" of ICT. It is ABC that stands between you and the realization of business value using ITSM best practices.
Achieving ITIL certification is useful to underpin knowledge and understanding of good practices for IT Service Management. To ensure that ITSM works in practice however, book learned knowledge and understanding is not enough. ABC challenges need to be addressed, if one wants to make ITSM happen and reap the intended benefots. The underpinning requirement to ITSM success is the appropriate ownership, application and leadership by various stakeholder groups of people.
In this session teams of delegates will use the ABC of ICT card set as an instrument to highlight the most significant ABC inhibitors towards ITSM success amongst the group. The card set helps to create awareness about and clarify the various types of worst practice Attitude, Behaviour and Culture that exists in organizations as well as the impact and consequences of these worst practices. The facilitator will refer to his/her significant background to further clarify the issues and also facilitate the sharing of experience amongst the group. Once the highest priority key ABC challenges are identified, practical strategies will be shared to decisively address the challenges and move beyond "book learned" ITIL implementations, instead making ITIL a living and breathing driver for true and measurable improvements in ICT organisations.
